High School STEM Scholar Recognition with Alyssa Lind

Our April High School STEM Scholar Recognition event was a wonderful success. We honored 28 students from 10 Seattle area schools including Making Connections at the University of Washington. The recognition is for their expertise in math, science and technology. Many invited their parents and other family members to attend this celebration. Proposed Seattle Branch Bylaws Changes

At our Annual Meeting, branch membership will be voting on proposed changes to our bylaws. Our bylaws remain in compliance with mandated National articles I - VII, however, there are two changes are being proposed for our branch unique articles. Title IX Update

Recent events signify big changes for Title IX, the landmark 1972 law prohibiting sex discrimination in schools. There are two prominent issues at stake:
- Whether or not Title IX’s prohibition on discrimination on the basis of sex includes discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender.
