Title IX Update

Recent events signify big changes for Title IX, the landmark 1972 law prohibiting sex discrimination in schools.  There are two prominent issues at stake:

Sign the Petition to Add the ERA to the Constitution

Women in the US are still not guaranteed equal rights. The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which will update the US Constitution to protect the equality of rights under the law regardless of sex, can be added to the Constitution with one action. Launch of New Branch Community Mini Grant Project

As part of our 2022 strategic plan, we developed the idea of offering an annual mini grant to a deserving local nonprofit or educational organization with a mission in line with AAUW’s.
