Organized Social Groups
Our branch members’ homes dot the landscape over about 40 miles from north to south and 25 miles from west to east—plus a few out of state. Not everyone can regularly get to our monthly branch meetings and keeping in touch at such a distance can be a challenge. In 2019 we formed five neighborhood groups to make it easier to get to know each other and welcome new members – without traveling very far. Initially, members were grouped by zip codes and met in person, and the groups became known as Neighborhood Groups. During the pandemic, groups either took a break and later resumed in-person meetings or changed to a virtual format / Zoom, which they’ve continued.
The groups are now known as Organized Social Groups. We no longer assign members by zip code; however, the groups retain their original neighborhood names. All members are welcome to join any or all of the organized groups!
There are currently three Organized Social Groups that meet on a regular basis. If you’re interested in learning more about a particular group, or in being added to its e-mail distribution list for meetings, please contact the applicable group leader(s) below:
Northwest Seattle Group – This group meets in person on a monthly basis. Meetings are held at Fisherman’s Terminal and alternate between Happy Hour at Chinook’s on the first Friday of the month and breakfast at the Bay Café on the first Saturday of the month. Northeast Seattle Group – This group meets virtually via Zoom on a monthly basis. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 11 am. Contact: Ruth at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
West Seattle & Points South Group - This group meets virtually via Zoom on a monthly basis. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 10 am.
