Membership

In principle and in practice, AAUW values and seeks an inclusive membership, workforce, leadership team and board of directors.  There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, geographical location, national origin, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status.  Learn more about AAUW membership.

AAUW membership is open to all individuals holding an associate (or equivalent), bachelor’s, or higher degree from a higher education institution accredited by a regional accrediting agency.  Students working on a degree may also join.  Others may become a Friend of Seattle Branch.  We welcome everyone to participate!

AAUW Seattle Branch Membership – $97 Dues/Year

Every Seattle Branch member is also a member of AAUW Washington State and the National AAUW organization*. 

Annual dues of $97 are comprised of:

The AAUW fiscal year runs from July 1st through June 30th. New members may join AAUW at any time and may renew annually on the anniversary of their join date.

*Note that if you are already a current member of the national AAUW and/or a current member of another AAUW Branch, you will pay only applicable State and Branch dues to become a Seattle Branch members.  Click on the New Membership button or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to get specific details in your case.

Payment Methods

• For those who are joining AAUW for the first time and would like to join online and pay by credit card, click here to create an AAUW account and log-in. Once you have created an account, you can pay your membership dues via credit card. (Video tutorials on logging in, managing your membership, and much more are here.)

• If you would like to mail your first-time membership fee, please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to receive a membership form that you can fill out and send in with your check.

• To renew an existing membership, please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to receive an email invoice with instructions to log in to your AAUW account and pay by credit card. Instructions to pay by check will also be included.

AAUW Student Membership

You can become an AAUW member as a student, joining a lifelong community of leaders who are working to educate and empower women and girls. You will also enjoy a range of benefits to help you succeed on campus and after graduation.

• As an undergraduate at an AAUW College/University partner, such as the University of Washington, you can join AAUW as an e-student affiliate member at no cost. 

• If your college/university is not an AAUW College/University partner, you can join AAUW as a student affiliate member for $18.81 / year. Follow the instructions above to create an AAUW account and join online via credit card or check. When you specify you are a student, you will be charged student dues.

Friends of Seattle Branch

We are happy to join with other AAUW branches in Washington State that have created ways to welcome non-degreed people so they can support our mission.  You can be a part of AAUW Seattle by becoming a “Friend of Seattle Branch”, allowing you to participate in just about any activity (except being on the board and voting) like any member. Friends are asked to make an annual contribution equivalent to the Seattle Branch portion of the dues.
