2024-25 Seattle Branch College Scholarship Recipients

For the 2024-2025 academic year, Seattle Branch has awarded $30,000 in scholarships. All recipients graduated from a King County high school and attend a WA public college/university full time.

Lily Duong is a Western Washington University senior majoring in elementary education, with a focus on language, literacy and cultural studies. A first-generation college student, she aspires to use her education to help remove systemic barriers to education. A resident of Burien, Lily graduated from Highline High School.

Hanna Kelly is a senior at Western Washington University majoring in psychology, with a minor in disability studies. She aspires to work as an occupational therapist for children with special needs. She graduated from Issaquah High School.

Siddhika Kshetri, an immigrant from Nepal and a Running Start student from Kent, is a junior at the University of Washington, working toward a bachelor’s degree in public health. She plans to train to be an EMT and then enter a master’s program in physician assistant studies.

Amanda Truong, a first-generation college student,  is in the respiratory care bachelor’s degree program at Seattle Central College. A resident of Renton and a graduate of Seattle’s Cleveland High school, Amanda is the mother of two grown sons. She will graduate in 2025 and looks forward to putting to work her medical knowledge and skills to help those in her community.

Barbara Lomeli Gil, a third-time award recipient, is a nursing student in the Honors College at Washington State University at Pullman (class of 2025). Her plans include becoming a Nurse Practitioner and assisting lower-income families’ (as was hers) access affordable health care. Barbara is a first-generation college student.
