AAUW Seattle Steps up to Support Graduate Student Research at UW

In June 2025, the Seattle Branch of AAUW provided $10,000 to help fund women graduate students’ research on projects of the University of Washington Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS). This is a collaborative project involving Dr. Elena Austin, Department Chair of DEOHS and AAUW member, who will mentor the students. Our April High School STEM Scholar Recognition event was a wonderful success. We honored 28 students from 10 Seattle area schools including Making Connections at the University of Washington.
