December 2021 Holiday Program Summary

Holiday Program Summary - A Wonderful Time Had by All!
By Barbara Sando

On December 18th, about 40 Seattle Branch members and guests enjoyed a wonderful holiday program at the festive Seattle Yacht Club, resuming a tradition that began in 2011 but too a hiatus last year due to COVID. It was great to see so many enjoying each other’s company in person before and during our delicious breakfast.

It was a real treat to see our very creative members Tonna Kutner and Marilyn Mears perform a humorous, yet thought-provoking, skit they’d put together on “holiday inclusiveness.” After we finished laughing, we were entertained by pianist David Little as he skillfully “tickled the ivories” by playing a medley of holiday and other classic songs.

In lieu of the usual full sing-along, we played a fun game of matching some not-so-often heard introductions to popular holiday tunes with their titles. Various AAUW paraphernalia items were awarded as prizes to the winners. Before all was said and done, we also raised an additional $1,695 for our end-of-year Greatest Needs Fundraiser. It was a nice way to wrap up calendar year 2021 for our Seattle Branch.
