Exceptional communicator. Sharp strategist. Seasoned leader. Savvy advocate. Dynamic speaker. Equity champion.

Seattle Branch is excited to have Lisa Maatz, a well-informed and dynamic speaker, engaging with us on Zoom. Maatz served for many years as AAUW’s top policy advisor where she worked to advance AAUW’s priority issues on Capitol Hill. With AAUW and in coalition with other organizations, she developed and directed public policy and grassroots advocacy to advance AAUW’s priorities at the federal, state, and local levels. She headed the National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education and the Paycheck Fairness Coalition, where she led groups representing diverse communities including women of color, LGBTQ, unions, religious and trade groups, and civil rights organizations.

She is currently the Senior Advisor for Ohio Citizen Action. Maatz is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Ohio University, where she earned two master’s degrees. If you have never heard her speak, don’t miss this opportunity. She will be taking our questions in the chat.
