Saturday, September 13, 2025
9:30AM - 11:30AM
Location: 6000 16th Avenue SW Seattle, WA 98106
Delight Roberts is a technology lawyer with expertise in online safety, privacy, and AI.
Her topics will cover online harms and their impact on vulnerable groups—particularly women and children. Some of the issues we’ll learn about are:
- Social media and the impact on kids’ mental health
- Revenge porn and nudify apps
- The manosphere and its influence on teen boys
- Ways in which deepfakes, disinformation, and generative AI have amplified the risks we face
- Why the problems are so difficult to resolve
We’ll also discuss how tech companies and governments are addressing these issues and steps we can take to keep our kids and ourselves safer online as we contend with some of the most complex and consequential issues of our time.
Delight Roberts was one of the first employees hired at Microsoft to work on online safety issues and has spent the past two decades at Microsoft advising product teams, executives, and government officials on issues relating to new and emerging technologies.
Prior to joining Microsoft, she served as the Government Affairs Director for the Seattle School District and as the lobbyist for the Children’s Alliance. Retired from Microsoft, she is now the founder and principal of a consultancy working with parents, students, teachers and schools to raise awareness of and to solve problems pertaining to online safety and AI.
She is also a member of the faculty at the SJ Quinney College of Law (Utah Law) where she holds an adjunct appointment and teaches on the topics of deepfakes, disinformation, and online harms in the age of generative AI and transactional law.
