Frye Art Museum Tour with AAUW Seattle Art Smart Group

The AAUW Seattle Art Smart Group will be touring the Frye Art Museum on July 19 at 11am. The Museum has been located in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood since 1952, and is the city’s only free art museum. The Founding Collection of primarily late-nineteenth and early-twentieth-century European art was gifted in perpetuity to the people of Seattle by prominent early-twentieth-century Seattle business leaders and art collectors Charles and Emma Frye.
One of the museum’s current exhibitions’, A Living Legacy, marks the Frye’s seventieth anniversary, bringing together eight artworks—all acquired in 2022 and on view at the museum for the first time—by Amoako Boafo, Sky Hopinka, Gisela McDaniel, Bony Ramirez, Tschabalala Self, Ann Leda Shapiro, and Sadie Wechsler.
