Finding the Silver Lining in your Traumatic Experiences with Annabel Quintero

Sunday, October 22, 2023
2:00PM - 3:30PM

Location: El Centro de la Raza
Historic Building, Room 311
2524 16th Ave S
Seattle, WA 98144

Annabel Quintero is an inspiring speaker, storyteller, wellness coach and diversity advisor. She the daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants and was raised in Seattle, WA.

During the pandemic, she wrote a best-selling book, Step Step Jump - Transforming Trauma to Triumph from the 46th Floor, about escaping the World Trade Center on 9/11 and now encourages us to “Step Step Jump” into our cultural blind spots and achieve visions larger than ourselves.

Quintero will share with us her recognition of how her traumatic experiences on 9/11 continued within her and the steps she took to manage the trauma’s influences, and how she is helping others as a cultural and wellness coach.

She wants us to know that life-altering and traumatic events are here to stay. We need to acknowledge them and make tending them a part of our priorities both personally and for humanity. Watch a preview of her story and insights in this captivating video.

The meeting starts at 2pm, but you are welcome to arrive at 1:30 pm for extra visiting and networking time. We meet in Room 311 of the historical building at El Centro de la Raza, 2524 16th Ave. S in Seattle. There’s plenty of parking and it’s directly across the street from the Beacon Hill light rail station.

The building is a beautifully renovated old school, a nostalgic experience for our many retired teachers and an appropriate spot for Ms. Quintero, a Seattle native who holds an M.Ed. in Educational Policy and Organizational Leadership.

Quintero will have copies of her book, Step Step Jump - Transforming Trauma to Triumph from the 46th Floor, available for purchase at the meeting.
