This Emmy-winning actress was taping a TV comedy show before a live audience when she literally dropped dead from sudden cardiac arrest. Tracey will describe her miraculous recovery and help us laugh and learn about women and their hearts. Tracey turned her miraculous recovery into poignant yet laugh-out-loud presentations that have wowed everyone from maximum-security inmates to Oprah Winfrey.
Conway was 38 when her life changed forever - live on the set of her ironically titled sketch comedy television show, “Almost Live!” She tells of lessons learned in those literally heart-stopping moments and shares how she adapted life and health priorities in the bonus 25+ years she has gratefully lived beyond her “dropping dead.”
Recently, Tracey returned to the operating theatre, this time for open-heart surgery to repair a failing valve. Recovery at 65 looks and definitely feels different than 38, but she’s still grateful, learning and laughing. As the brilliant Stephen Sondheim song goes, she’s “Still HERE!”
Conway contributed the lead story in Chicken Soup for the Soul, Healthy Living: HEART DISEASE and received two Emmy nominations for her writing on “Almost Live!” Her book, Cross My Heart and Hope to Live! is a series of essays focused on the heart, not only the physical but the emotional heart.
