AAUW Washington State Annual Meeting

AAUW-WA will hold its annual conference via Zoom. The theme of this year’s meeting is strengthening public education while making it more equitable for girls, students of color, and LGBTQ students. The keynote speaker will be Jennifer Berkshire, co-author of A Wolf at the Schoolhouse Door: The Dismantling of Public Education. Berkshire’s presentation will be followed by a panel of Washington educators, including Michaela Miller, Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction. They will discuss what Washington needs as it reacts to the problems created by the pandemic and as it moves to improve schools generally.

A state-wide book groups will take place via Zoom on March 30 at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to discuss Berkshire’s book. Learn about the book here.
